Safe Working Practice - General

  • Ensure you have read and fully understood the instruction manual and safety advice before using this product. Failure to do so may result in a fire, explosion, injury, damage to property or loss of life. Save these instructions for future reference.
  • Always remove any protective cover before using (if applicable). DO NOT place the protective cover over the fire pit until it is turned off and completely cooled down. DO NOT use the fire pit in windy conditions.
  • The fire pit should be inspected before every use and checked annually by a qualified professional. Any guard or protective device removed for maintenance must be placed back prior to using the fire pit. Always check for leaks before use.
  • Do not use the fire pit for anything else but its intended purpose. Do not use it for cooking and do not throw anything onto the fire when the fire pit is in use.
  • Keep the fire pit clean and well maintained for best possible performance. Frequent cleaning may be necessary. Ensure that the control compartment, burners and air passageways of the fire pit are kept clean and clear of debris.
  • Installation and routine checks must be performed by a qualified professional. Improper installation or repair can cause injury or property damage.
  • This product is designed for use outdoors in a well ventilated space and should not be used in any enclosed area, such as a garage, building, shed, etc. Ensure the ventilation holes are clear and not obstructed at all times. Do not place the fire pit under any overhead enclosure. Combustible material should not be within 180 inches of the top of the unit, or within 120cm around the entire unit.
  • This outdoor fire pit is not to be installed or used in or on recreational vehicles and/or boats.
  • Do not use this fire pit for indoor heating. Toxic carbon monoxide fumes can accumulate and cause asphyxiation.
  • When igniting the fire pit, keep a safe distance from the burner as the flame will light up and may cause injury. Keep a safe distance while operating the product to avoid burns or damage to clothing.
  • Never leave the fire pit unattended while in use. Keep children and pets away from the fire pit. Flammable items should be kept away, and no fire pit cover should be used other than the one provided. Do not hang or place clothing or other flammable materials/objects on or near the fire pit. Keep electrical cables away from the fire pit.
  • Do not attempt to move the fire pit while in use as it will be hot and could cause injury. Do not lean on, sit or rest hands or feet on the fire pit while in use, or right after use, as the fire pit will be very hot. Do not touch the hot surfaces until these have cooled down fully.
  • The use of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription drugs may impair an individual's ability to properly assemble or safely operate this outdoor fire pit.
  • Use only the regulator and hose assembly provided. Any replacement regulator and hose assembly shall be that recommended by the manufacturer. Check the hose assembly prior to every fire pit use, for wear and tear or signs of damage. Do not place the hose where it may obstruct pathways, cause a tripping hazard, or be subjected to accidental damage.
  • Before each use, remove the lava rocks and check the burner and its components. If there is debris, clean with a soft brush and soapy water. Remove any debris around the burner area. If there is evident damage to the burner, do not use the fire pit. The burner assembly can not be replaced.

Gas Warnings

  • If you smell gas or hear a hiss:

1. Shut off gas to the fire pit.

2. Extinguish any open flame.

3. If the odour continues, leave the area and contact your gas supplier immediately. If there is a fire, contact the emergency services for help.

4. Follow your gas supplier's advice or the instructions of emergency services.

  • NEVER use a flame to check for gas leaks. Do not store any flammable or combustible materials near the fire pit. Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapours and liquids within 25 feet (7.62m) of this or any other appliance.
  • This appliance was designed and made in accordance with EN14543, EN509 (where applicable), and EN437, in addition to subsequent gas standards. This appliance complies with the European Directive: Gas Appliance Directive GAR 2016/426/EC.
  • This appliance is fitted with a flexible gas rubber pipe and clamps, which must be used. Do not use any other kind and always ensure you follow the enforced safety laws in your country.
  • Do not attach a remote gas supply to this fire pit. This fire pit is not intended for natural gas. Converting this unit to natural gas is dangerous and not recommended. The conversion of this unit will void the manufacturer warranty.
  • Do not attempt to disconnect the gas regulator from the tank or any gas fitting while the fire pit is in use.
  • Always shut off the gas supply at the tank valve and disconnect the regulator from the tank when the fire pit is not in use.

Propane and Butane Gas

The fire pit is recommended to be used together with propane or butane gas cylinders of 5KG. PROPANE AND BUTANE gas is flammable and hazardous if handled improperly. Ensure you are aware of the following:

  • Propane and butane are flammable, explosive under pressure, heavier than air and settle in pools in low areas.
  • In their natural state, propane and butane have no odour. For your safety, an odorant has been added.
  • Contact with propane and butane can cause serious burns to the skin.
  • Gas cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area out of reach of children.
  • Disconnected cylinders must have threaded valve plugs tightly installed and must not be stored in a building, garage or any other enclosed area.
  • Never use a propane/ butane cylinder with a damaged body, valve, collar or footing. Gas cylinders must have a collar to protect the valve.
  • Dented or rusted propane/ butane cylinders may be hazardous and should be checked by your propane gas supplier.
  • Propane/ butane gas cylinders must be equipped for vapour withdrawal.
  • The propane/ butane gas cylinder must have a listed overfilling prevention device (OPD).
  • Do not drop the cylinders and ensure these are handled with care at all times.
  • Never store your propane/butane cylinders in direct sunlight, near sources of heat or in temperatures that can reach over 50°C.
  • Never store a cylinder in a hot car. The heat will cause the gas pressure to increase, which may open the relief valve and allow gas to escape.
  • Place a dust cap on the valve outlet whenever the propane/ butane gas cylinder is not in use. Only install the type of dust cap on the cylinder valve outlet that is provided with the valve. Other types of caps or plugs may result in a gas leak.
  • Do not store LP gas cylinders near or under the fire pit. Never fill an LP gas cylinder beyond 80% full. Failure to comply with these warnings may result in serious injury or loss of life.
  • Propane and butane gas cylinders should be filled only by a certified propane and butane gas dealer.
  • Do not attempt to attach the fire pit to the self-contained LP gas system of a camper trailer, motor home or house.
  • Never connect to an unregulated propane and butane gas supply.
  • Hand turn the manual gas control valve only. Do not use any tools. If the valve does not turn by hand, do not try to repair it. Call a qualified professional. The use of force or any self attempted repair may result in a fire or explosion.

Install the Gas Cylinder

Please select a cylinder that complies with the following criteria:

  • The bottom cover of the cylinder must be inserted between the bottle supports and should be levelled on the bottom panel.
  • The size should be 46.5cm (H) x 28.9cm (W) x 31.8cm (D of largest base)
  • The maximum capacity of the cylinder should be 6kg.
  • Several sizes can be used, please see the diagram on the next page.

WARNING

Change the gas cylinder in a well-ventilated area, away from any source of ignition (candle, cigarettes and other flame producing appliances).

Hose & Regulator Assembly and Replacement

This fire pit comes equipped with a standard gas hose and regulator, including the appliance side connection for Cylinder Connection Device. The gas hose and regulator supplied with this fire pit must be used. In case it is not included, please ensure the type of regulator you use is a low pressure LPG regulator for the EN 1612-:2013 standard. Only a hose and regulator specified by manufacturer can be used for replacement.

1. The connection incorporates a magnetic flow limiting device that acts to limit the flow of gas if a leak is detected between the regulator and the burner valve.
2. If the burner valve is open prior to the gas cylinder service valve being opened, the connection will interpret this free flow of gas to be a leak.
3. The connection safety feature will reduce gas flow from the regulator to the appliance to a minimal level.
4. Ensure that the burner control valve is closed prior to opening the gas cylinder service valve so that the connection flow limiting device is not triggered accidentally.
5. If the connection flow limiting device is triggered accidentally, close the gas cylinder service valve and the burner valve and wait 10 seconds to allow the device to reset. Open the cylinder service valve, then open the burner valve and light the fire pit as per lighting instructions.
6. Do not use tools to tighten the connection nut onto the gas cylinder service valve. Tighten by hand only.
7. Be careful not to cross the threads on the connection when tightening it on to the gas cylinder service valve.
8. A "Leak Test" should always be performed after attaching the connection to the gas cylinder service valve.

Ensure that the hose is protected and kept away from any hot surfaces, to avoid any damage to the hose or cause a dangerous situation.

Regular maintenance of the hose and regulator:

  • Inspect the hose before each use of the fire pit. If the hose shows signs of cracks, abrasions, cuts or damage of any kind, do not operate the appliance. Fix or replace the hose as required before using the appliance. Only use replacement parts from the manufacturer.
  • Inspect the seal inside the service valve on the gas cylinder when replacing the cylinder or at least once per year. If there is any indication of damage, have the seal replaced by a certified gas dealer before operating the appliance.

Gas Hose Connections

Two people are required to assemble the gas hose connections. Upraise the fire pit and attach the hose to the manifold inlet nipple and tighten the hose clip, or secure the hose to the manifold inlet fitting as shown in FIG.01 & FIG.02 below. The hose length should be 50cm.

Lava Rock Warning

1. Do not change or substitute the lava rock material provided with this fire pit. If in need of replacing, only use lava rock available from your local authorized dealer/distributor.
2. Pour the lava rock evenly in to the burner area (with the exception of the screen-if applicable). The lava rock should be 2-1" above the burner.
3. Do not exceed a height of 1" above the burner when placing the lava rock. Ensure no lava rock covers the igniter box. Store any excess in a safe location.
4. Do not light or use this fire pit if lava rocks are wet. Ensure lava rocks are completely dry before lighting. Intense heat can cause wet lava rocks to explode and these could cause injury or property damage.
5. Please keep away from the fire pit for at least 20 minutes during initial start-up as lava rocks could retain some moisture from manufacturing and shipping conditions.
