Safety Advice

  • Place the bin on a flat, stable surface to prevent tipping.
  • Do not overload the bin, as excessive weight may cause instability or damage to the pedal mechanism.
  • Ensure the lid opens and closes smoothly before use; if resistance is felt, inspect for obstructions and clear them safely.
  • Keep hands and fingers away from the lid mechanism when opening or closing to avoid injury.
  • Use the foot pedal gently to prevent excessive force from damaging the mechanism.
  • Do not stand, sit, or place heavy objects on the bin, as this may cause damage or injury.
  • If the bin has a soft-close lid, allow it to close naturally—do not force it shut.
  • Regularly check and clean the pedal mechanism to ensure smooth operation and prevent dirt or debris buildup.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials when cleaning the bin to prevent damage to surfaces.
  • Ensure bin liners are properly fitted and do not interfere with the pedal mechanism.
  • Do not dispose of hot materials, such as ashes or embers, in the bin to prevent fire hazards.
  • Keep the bin away from direct heat sources, such as ovens or radiators, to avoid material warping or damage.
  • If the bin is used for food waste, regularly clean and disinfect it to prevent odours and bacterial growth.
  • Avoid excessive force when removing or inserting internal compartments to prevent breakage.
  • Do not allow children to play with or inside the bin to avoid injury or suffocation risks.
  • If any part of the bin becomes damaged or malfunctions, discontinue use until it is repaired or replaced.
  • Dispose of the product responsibly at the end of its lifespan, following local waste disposal regulations.

1. Maintenance

  • Regularly wipe down the exterior of the bin with a damp cloth and mild detergent to remove dirt, stains, and fingerprints.
  • Clean the interior of the bin frequently with warm soapy water to prevent odours and bacterial buildup. Ensure it is fully dry before reassembling.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these may damage the bin’s surface or finish.
  • Check the foot pedal mechanism regularly for any dirt, debris, or blockages that may affect its function. Clean gently with a soft brush or cloth if necessary.
  • Lubricate the pedal mechanism lightly with a silicone-based lubricant if it becomes stiff or difficult to operate. Avoid using oil-based lubricants, which may attract dust and dirt.
  • Ensure bin liners are properly fitted and do not obstruct the lid or pedal mechanism, which could lead to improper operation.
  • If the bin has removable compartments, take them out periodically to clean thoroughly and prevent residue buildup.
  • Dry all components completely after cleaning to prevent rust, mould, or mildew growth, particularly if the bin has metal parts.
  • Inspect hinges, lid dampers, and other moving parts for signs of wear or damage. Replace any broken components as necessary to maintain functionality.
  • Avoid overfilling the bin, as excessive weight can strain the pedal mechanism and cause premature wear.
  • Store the bin in a dry environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures to prevent material warping or degradation.
  • If unpleasant odours persist, sprinkle baking soda or place an odour-absorbing packet inside the bin to neutralise smells.
  • Do not submerge the entire bin in water, as prolonged exposure may damage internal mechanisms or cause rust.
  • If the bin develops cracks, loose parts, or malfunctions, discontinue use until it is repaired or replaced.
