  • This product is intended solely as a domestic gardening and potting workstation for preparing plants, handling pots and storing suitable lightweight gardening tools and materials.
  • Do not use the product as a seat, step ladder, climbing aid, work platform or for any purpose other than its intended use.
  • This product is intended for use by competent adults. Children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities must only be near the product under appropriate supervision and must not be permitted to climb or play on it.
  • Keep children and pets away during assembly and when sharp gardening tools, fertilisers, pesticides or other potentially hazardous gardening substances are being used.
  • Assemble the potting bench fully in accordance with the supplied instructions before use.
  • Check that all legs, shelves, worktop components, hooks, screws, and other fixings are correctly fitted and securely tightened before first use.
  • Keep fingers and hands clear of joints, fixing points and mating components during assembly to reduce the risk of trapping or pinching.
  • Do not force components into position during assembly. Incorrectly aligned or damaged components may affect the stability and structural integrity of the product.
  • Wear suitable protective gloves during assembly and when handling timber or metal components.
  • Inspect all components before assembly. Do not assemble or use the product if any part is missing, cracked, split, distorted, excessively rough, corroded or otherwise damaged.
  • Timber components may contain rough surfaces or develop splinters through use or weathering. Handle the timber carefully and discontinue use until damaged or splintered areas have been safely repaired.
  • Position the potting bench on a firm, flat, level and stable surface before use.
  • Ensure all four legs are securely supported and that the bench does not rock, lean or move during normal use.
  • Do not place the product on soft, uneven, sloping or unstable ground where it could tip or collapse.
  • Do not lean heavily against the product or allow anyone to sit, stand or climb on the worktop or shelves.
  • Do not allow children to climb on, hang from or play with the bench.
  • Do not use the bench if it becomes unstable or if any structural component is damaged.
  • Do not exceed any maximum load capacity specified by the manufacturer for the worktop, shelves or hooks.
  • Distribute loads evenly across the worktop and shelves and avoid concentrated loads that could cause the timber, shelves or fixings to fail.
  • Store heavier gardening items on the lower shelves where possible to help maintain stability.
  • Do not place excessively heavy plant pots, bags of compost, equipment or other loads on the worktop or shelves.
  • Place pots, tools and gardening materials securely on the worktop and shelves and keep them away from exposed edges where they could fall.
  • Do not overload the side hooks or hang heavy, oversized or unstable items from them, as this may damage the hooks or affect the stability of the bench.
  • Ensure items suspended from the hooks do not create a snagging, impact or trip hazard.
  • Remove loose tools and objects from the worktop when they are not being used.
  • Take care when handling the metal worktop, particularly around its edges and corners.
  • Inspect the metal worktop before use for raised, damaged, deformed or sharp edges. Do not use the product until any hazardous damage has been safely rectified.
  • The three supplied gardening tools must only be used for their intended hand-gardening purposes.
  • Handle the supplied tools carefully and keep hands and fingers away from sharp or pointed working ends.
  • Wear suitable gardening gloves when using the supplied tools.
  • Do not use a tool if its handle, metal head or connection becomes damaged, loose, bent, cracked or otherwise unsafe.
  • Never throw the tools or leave them where they could fall from the worktop or shelves.
  • Store the supplied tools securely when not in use and keep them out of reach of children.
  • Do not modify, sharpen, extend or otherwise alter the supplied tools in a way that could make them unsafe.
  • Keep the working area around the bench clear of packaging, tools, plant pots, hoses and other obstructions.
  • Clean up spilled soil, compost and water promptly to reduce slipping and tripping hazards.
  • Do not leave gardening tools on the ground around the bench and maintain clear access around the product during use.
  • Take particular care when the worktop, timber or surrounding floor is wet, as surfaces may become slippery.
  • Follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety information for all composts, fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and other gardening substances used at the bench.
  • Wear suitable gloves, eye protection or other personal protective equipment where required by the manufacturer of the substance being handled.
  • Avoid contact between gardening chemicals and the eyes or skin, and wash hands thoroughly after gardening activities.
  • Do not eat, drink or prepare food on the worktop where gardening chemicals, fertilisers, compost or contaminated tools have been handled.
  • Keep fertilisers, pesticides and other gardening chemicals securely stored away from children, pets and foodstuffs.
  • Do not use the bench for storing flammable liquids, fuels, gas cylinders or hazardous chemicals unless those products are stored independently in accordance with their own safety requirements.
  • Keep the wooden product away from open flames, barbecues, fire pits, heaters and other sources of ignition or excessive heat.
  • Do not place hot equipment, burning materials or hot ash directly onto the timber or metal worktop.
  • If the bench is used outdoors, position and store it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and protect it from unnecessary prolonged exposure to severe weather.
  • Timber and metal components must be regularly checked for rot, splitting, warping, corrosion, loosening or other deterioration caused by moisture and weather exposure.
  • Do not continue using the product where deterioration could affect its strength or stability.
  • Avoid allowing water to remain standing on the worktop or timber shelves for prolonged periods.
  • Do not use pressure washers, aggressive chemicals or unsuitable solvents that could damage the timber finish, metal surfaces or fixings.
  • Regularly check all screws, bolts, shelf supports, legs, hooks and joints for looseness or deterioration and tighten loose fixings before further use.
  • Stop using the product immediately if it becomes unstable, damaged or structurally weakened. Replace or repair affected components before returning it to service.
  • Use only suitable replacement components and fixings of an equivalent specification. Improvised or unsuitable repairs may reduce the strength and stability of the product.
  • When moving the bench, remove tools, pots, compost and other loose items first. Lift the bench carefully using appropriate manual-handling techniques rather than dragging it across the ground.
  • Where the product cannot be lifted safely by one person, obtain assistance.
  • Do not dispose of the product by burning. At the end of its service life, separate timber, metal and other components where reasonably possible and dispose of or recycle them in accordance with local waste requirements.
  • Retain the product identification, model or batch information and the manufacturer's or importer's details supplied with the product for future reference.
  • For products supplied within the EU, retain the details of the manufacturer and, where applicable, the responsible economic operator or EU Responsible Person so that the product can be identified and traced if a safety issue arises.
