Steel Sink and Rainbow Tap

Enhance any kitchen with this stylish and durable stainless steel sink from KuKoo, designed to look pristine even in the busiest environments. Made from high-quality 0.9mm stainless steel, this sink offers both a brilliant finish and sturdy construction, outshining standard sinks in durability and style. With your new sink, you’ll also receive a plug less basket strainer waste kit that works seamlessly for both plug holes—simply push to seal and pull to release water, preventing food debris from clogging your sink. Plus, enjoy a range of extras at no extra cost: a plumbing kit, tap hole cover plate, clips, rubber sealing strips, and the stylish Rainbow mixer tap. Installing this sink is easy—just fit it into a pre-cut hole in your worktop and secure it with the included clips. With an overall size of approximately 1050mm x 500mm, you’ll need a worktop cut-out of 1030mm x 480mm. Pre-punched 35mm tap holes allow for reversible installation, giving you the choice of a left- or right-hand drainer based on your kitchen layout.

Safety Advice

  • Ensure you have read and fully understood the instruction manual and safety advice before using this product.
  • Only qualified personnel should install this product to ensure proper connection to plumbing and water supplies and to avoid potential leaks or property damage.
  • Do not install the sink or tap near electrical outlets or appliances without proper waterproofing measures to prevent electrical hazards.
  • Confirm that all pipe connections, seals, and washers are properly installed and tightened to prevent leaks that may cause water damage or mould growth.
  • Ensure the tap is compatible with the water pressure system in your property; excessive pressure may cause tap failure or water bursts.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or steel wool on the stainless steel sink or rainbow finish tap to prevent surface damage and corrosion.
  • Check that the sink is fully supported during and after installation; undermount and inset sinks must be mounted according to manufacturer guidelines to avoid detachment or structural failure.
  • Do not place extremely hot items directly in the sink, as thermal shock can warp or discolour stainless steel surfaces.
  • Avoid striking the tap or sink with heavy objects; dents or cracks may lead to functional failure or sharp edges causing injury.
  • Do not overload the sink with excessive weight (e.g. standing in or storing heavy objects inside); this may cause deformation or detachment from worktops.
  • Keep the area around the sink and tap dry when not in use to avoid slips, water pooling, and mould growth.
  • Ensure all fittings and flexible hoses are checked for wear, rust, or degradation during regular inspections and replaced as needed.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the tap or sink mountings while connected to water supply lines; always isolate the water supply before performing maintenance.
  • Clean the aerator and filter on the tap regularly to maintain water flow and prevent limescale buildup.
  • Do not allow children to play with or hang from the tap or edges of the sink.
  • Periodically inspect all seals, brackets, and mountings for signs of loosening, wear, or corrosion, and take corrective action immediately to maintain safety and functionality.
  • Ensure proper earthing and bonding is in place if the sink is installed near electrical installations or metal appliances.
  • In the event of leaks, discontinue use immediately and isolate water supply until a qualified technician can assess the issue.
  • Use only compatible tools and fittings provided or recommended by the manufacturer during installation and maintenance to avoid damage and voiding of warranty.

1. Maintenance Advice

  • Clean the stainless steel sink regularly with warm soapy water and a soft cloth to maintain hygiene and prevent the buildup of residue or stains.
  • Dry the sink after each use with a soft towel or microfibre cloth to prevent water spots and mineral deposits, especially in hard water areas.
  • Avoid using abrasive pads, wire wool, or scouring powders, which may scratch the stainless steel surface and compromise its corrosion resistance.
  • Use a non-abrasive, pH-neutral stainless steel cleaner for deeper cleans, ensuring it is rinsed off thoroughly to prevent chemical buildup.
  • Maintain the rainbow finish tap by wiping it with a damp, soft cloth only; avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners that may degrade the coloured coating.
  • Do not use bleach or chlorine-based products on the sink or tap, as these may cause discolouration or pitting on stainless steel surfaces.
  • Descale the tap aerator every 3–6 months by unscrewing it and soaking it in a mild vinegar solution to remove limescale and ensure optimal water flow.
  • Check and clean the waste trap regularly to prevent blockages, foul odours, and water backup.
  • Inspect flexible hoses connected to the tap at least twice a year for signs of wear, bulging, or corrosion, and replace them immediately if compromised.
  • Examine silicone or rubber seals around the tap and sink for degradation or mould growth and replace as needed to maintain a watertight seal.
  • Test all tap joints and fittings periodically for leaks or drips and tighten connections or replace washers where necessary.
  • For rainbow taps with moving parts (e.g. pull-out spray heads), lubricate internal components with food-safe silicone grease as advised by the manufacturer.
  • Avoid leaving metal objects such as pots or cutlery in the sink for extended periods, as these may cause localised rust staining.
  • Do not allow standing water or wet sponges to remain in contact with the surface, as they can contribute to mineral deposits and surface dulling.
  • Periodically check the integrity of the mounting hardware beneath the sink to ensure there is no loosening or sagging that could cause detachment.
  • In areas with hard water, install a water softener or use a tap filter to reduce limescale accumulation and prolong the lifespan of both sink and tap.
  • Store harsh cleaning chemicals away from the sink cabinet interior to avoid accidental spills or vapour exposure that may corrode pipework or fittings.
  • Maintain proper ventilation in the kitchen area to reduce humidity and prevent condensation around the tap and sink fixtures.
  • Keep the instruction manual and product information accessible for future reference regarding compatible replacement parts and manufacturer-approved maintenance methods.
